History did not unfold in a straight line. Neither will the future. We will zig zag our way through the Big Five problems, and hope our blending of science and spirituality will guide us to a happy place. Whether we get there depends on what choices we collectively make – we can pick a path of pro-science yet spiritually-informed progress, or take an express train toward our sixth mass extinction.
